Target Audience

This conference is intended for hospital-based physicians, community physicians, psychologists, medical students, residents, fellows, nurses, NPs, PAs, pharmacists, social workers, and other health care professionals.


Learning Objectives

  • Describe key factors contributing to student, resident and physician/health care provider chronic stress and symptoms of burnout
  • Identify the current best practices in individual and organizational interventions to promote well-being in the learning and work environments
  • Develop strategies for maintaining a better balance of the cognitive, emotional, physical, social and spiritual aspects of one's life and translating those strategies to improving the environment with one's co-workers and co-learners
  • Develop a personal plan and ongoing commitment to contribute to creating and maintaining a healthy work environment



In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by MedStar Health and Georgetown University.  MedStar Health is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) and the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
